Orbita Messenger (“Orbita”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is a mobile and web messaging application that lets you chat and manage work tasks in a familiar, conversational way. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have — including how to delete your account. By using Orbita, you agree to the practices described here and to our Terms of Use.
1. Information you provide
- Account information. When you register, we collect your phone number to verify your identity via a one-time code, along with a display name and optional profile photo.
- Messages and content. The messages, replies, reactions, photos, videos, documents and voice notes you send and receive are processed to deliver them to their recipients and to show your chat history on your devices.
- Tasks and work items. Tasks, subtasks, statuses, due dates and related notes you create or are assigned within Orbita.
2. Information collected automatically
- Device and app data. Device model, operating system, app version, language, and diagnostic or crash logs used to keep the service reliable.
- Push tokens. A push-notification identifier so we can deliver message and task alerts.
- Usage data. Basic activity such as message delivery events, used to operate the service.
We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs, we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites, and we do not use the device advertising identifier (IDFA).
3. Contacts (optional)
If you grant permission, Orbita reads your device contacts solely to help you find and start chats with people you already know. You can decline or revoke this permission at any time in your device settings; Orbita will continue to work without it. We do not sell your contacts.
4. AI features
Orbita includes AI assistance that reads the content of messages you send to it (or that mention it) to understand your request and help create, assign, and track tasks on your behalf. This processing is performed to provide the core functionality you have asked for. We do not use your private messages to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell your data.
5. How we use your information
- To operate messaging, deliver your messages and media, and sync your chats across your devices.
- To create, route, and track tasks and to notify the right people.
- To send you notifications you have enabled.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse, review reports, enforce our Terms, troubleshoot, and improve reliability.
- To comply with legal obligations.
6. How your information is shared
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to run the service:
- Other users. Your messages, name and profile photo are visible to the people and groups you communicate with.
- Service providers. Trusted infrastructure and processing partners (for example, cloud hosting, database, storage, push-notification delivery, and AI processing) that operate on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.
- Legal reasons. When required by applicable law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the service.
7. Safety, moderation and user controls
Orbita has zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. To keep the community safe, the app gives you tools to control your experience and to flag problems for us to act on:
- Report. You can report a message or a user from within the app. Reports are sent to our moderation team for review, and we may remove content and suspend or remove accounts that violate our Terms of Use.
- Block. You can block a user so they can no longer message you or contact you in Orbita.
- Leave. You can leave any group conversation at any time.
When you submit a report, we may retain the reported content, the involved account identifiers, and the report details for as long as needed to investigate, take action, and keep records of enforcement.
8. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. When you delete your account (see “Your rights” below), we delete your profile, messages, media and associated personal data, except where limited information must be retained for legal, security, or abuse-prevention purposes.
9. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards — including encrypted connections (TLS), access controls, and signed server-to-server communication — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and continually improve our practices.
10. Your rights and choices
- Access, correct, or update your profile information in the app.
- Control contacts, microphone, camera, photo, and notification permissions from your device settings.
- Delete your account. You can permanently delete your account and associated data directly in the app — see the callout below.
In the Orbita app, open Settings → Delete account and confirm. This permanently deletes your account, profile, messages, media and personal data from Orbita. If you are unable to access the app, you can also email us at sajith@tshaped.in from your registered contact and we will process the deletion.
11. Children
Orbita is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
12. International users
Orbita is operated from India and may process and store information on servers located in other countries. By using Orbita, you consent to the transfer and processing of your information as described in this policy.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
